Winter. The world of silvery white that came at last. I was waiting for the time of the winter bird that came with the snow.

It is laying eggs of amphibians in spring. It is the golden season of reptiles in the summer. It is going up of the fish in autumn. It is a seal and a bird of the Arctic Circle in winter.

But there is almost no living thing I want to take a picture of from the late autumn to early winter. I long for that green lost gray scenery becomes the world of silver.

The redpoll came over with winter. The one of my favorite birds. It eased my feeling this year.

*CANON EOS 1D Mark III*

Hazel Grouse (Tetrastes bonasia) comes out in the woodland path the early spring with a pair. I have the image that this bird will live in ground just like the Japanese pheasant (Phasianus versicolor) and the Chinese bamboo partridge(Bambusicola thoracicus).

However, the hazel grouse flies to the tree branch at half the probability though many jump into the thicket as for the Japanese pheasant and the Chinese bamboo partridge when flying in surprise.

It is a smart bird having both strategies to watch an enemy from high place, and to hide in the thicket and spend enemy.

In Japan, there is another kind bird called “Rai-cyo”. “Rai-cyo” is Ptarmigan (Lagopus muta). “Rai”s mean is not well understod. “Cho” is meand “bird”. One theory seys that “Rai” is meand “Thunder”. In Japan, “Thunder” is called “Kaminari” or “Rai”. Because “Rai-cyo” appeared a lot on the day when the weather was bad, it was worshiped as a bird that called the thunder. The other teory seys that “Rai” is meaned “Spirit”.
In Japan, “Spirit” is called “Rei”. “Rai-cyo” equal “Rei-cyo”. Because “Rai-cyo” live in spiritual mounten.

“Rai-cyo” is a meaning of “Thunder bird” in the kanji now. A bird in the imagination to cause thunder called “Thunder bird” and rain seems to be told to a Native American in a myth. But this seems to be eagle-like form not “Rai-cyo” such as the photograph.

I thought that he seemed to be a bullet. Because a feather is very minute, I am different from the soft feeling in Wax wing sp, and he seems to be a bullet. Because the point of the tail is yellow, they are called “Ki renjyaku” in Japan. It is the meaning that “Ki” calls yellow. The kind that the point of the tail is red is called “Hi renjyaku” with the same kind. “Hi” is a meaning of the red.

There seems to be no resistance of the wind, and he flies away like a bullet, but is not too good at the way of flying. He can flap hard and do neither the gliding nor the rapid turn. He look alike White-cheeked Starling (Sturnus cineraceus) and how to fly well. And, the sizes of them are also almost the same. I sometimes make a mistake when he fly alone.

Aegithalos caudatus japonicus
Long-tailed Tit

Photograph by Baikada (ばいかだ)
*CANON EOS 1D Mark III*

Bird’s photograph increases overwhelmingly when the animal of in season of this season is put. I have come to want to take the living thing by using macrolens soon.

By the way, it is this Long-tailed Tit, but is so pretty. If many people watch them close, will think them to be pretty. The another subspecies Long-tailed Tit(Aegithalos caudatus trivirgatus) that lives excluding Hokkaido in Japan, have a black line from the amount part on to back of the head. Long-tailed Tit like the snowman is only Long-tailed Tit of Hokkaido.

The name of Long-tailed Tit is a meaning of “Long handle” in Japanese. In Japan, there is Azure-winged Magpie of the name of the meaning called “Long tail” to a bird of the Corvidae. It is hard to understand that I say “Long handle”, but please image a ladle.
The ladle is a tool to dip water. It consists of “Long handle” and “Part where water is dipped”. This bird is called “Long handle” from looking like the shape of this “Long handle”.

I want to take a lot of Long-tailed Tit, but it is difficult to take it because they are very small and move. And, Long-tailed Tit thinks it is more cautious than Great Tit(Parus major) and Marsh Tit. I cannot take it quite well.

According to a person, Long-tailed Tit is a dear bird, but, by ecosystem, it is a considerable lower rank. They always live in a dangerous state. They think “how they lives” hard. I do not imagine it easily by such their lovely face. Surely… It is not possible to live only lovelily.

Photograph by Baikada (ばいかだ)

I think that there are a lot of people who know chameleon’s eyes move separately in the right and the left. They seem to be having surroundings can watched by separately sending the brain the scenery of the right eye and the scenery of the left eye. Human watches one thing with the eyes of right and left. Human understands three-dimensional structure in a brain and can measure distance with the object hereby. On the other hand, a field of vision becomes very small. You will close one eye so that you watch a thing in the viewpoint of the chameleon. The distance feeling cannot be gripped even if it tries to grip the suitable one in the state, and I think that it cannot act well.

I am noticed it is significant respectively when thinking about the place in which the animal has eyes. There is a bird called Eurasian Woodcock, but the eyes of this bird stick to the terrible place. (The one of the top of the head)However, he can get the sky and approximately 360 degrees fields of vision mainly and he is quick and can hide from a predator because here is eyes. Most attaches the bird when I thinking thus and eyes are sideways attached. (Excluding the kind of owl.)

When I take the photograph of the bird, I well tend to be seen in a bird with one eye. However, I sometimes have time to be seen in a bird with two eyes from the front. This will be any kind of thing…

I feel like tending to be seen in the front when I got together near to take a photograph. I made Eurasian Bullfinch of the photograph distance, and it was around 3m. Does not Eurasian Bullfinchg want to leave the place desperately to eat flowering sprout? Does not Eurasian Bullfinchg fly in what a person is tame with? I did not understand either, but Eurasian Bullfinchg did not readily move.

When a bird turned to the front, I thought that a bird might measure distance with the object. In other words the bird could watch scenery in right and left, and I thought whether bird was the animal which it watched an object with both eyes if necessary, and cut it in stereoscopic vision. Because I do not examine it, I don’t understand that I know a lot, but it is the impression that I take a photograph, and I felt.

Grey Heron and Bush tit, this Eurasian Bullfinch, the reason is because they tended I to be glared because I get together near so far. I think and think that “What the bird views from the front” = “Approach to the bird too much of me” to take their eyes off it at distance if a bird comes to turn to the front when I will take a photograph in future…

The animal which is a predator tends to watch an object like Ezo red foxand Ezo raccoon Dog from the front. After all will the reason be because it is important to measure distance with the catch?

The final chapter of RGB is blue. Blue is nature’s color to be able to see you very well. Sea, lake, and the sky… I think that there is blue in the basis of the environment that brings up the creature.

I want to take a photograph with blue reptiles slowly, but cannot readily meet blue reptiles just as wanted. Japanese ratsnake in East-Hokkaido of the vivid light blue type is very beautiful.
However, it is light blue, but not blue. Metallic blue of tail of infant of Japanese five-lined skink. How if that is a color of the whole body though this is also very beautiful? It is likely not to like it so much for me.

月夜に照らされた美しい青。あの記憶を写真に出来たらいいのに…。と思ってしまいます。爬虫類のことばかり言って、この写真のカワセミには失礼ですね。(^^;
I want to come across blue reptiles. The blue that seems to be Big blue parrotfish if it is a fish. The blue that seems to be Blue-and-White Flycatcher if it is a bird. In fact, there can be the thing that I came across the reptiles which were near to it once. Blue of Banded amphibious sea snake swimming in the night sea where I came across in Iriomote Island. The beautiful blue that was lighted up in a moonlit night. Though I should have been able to do it to a photograph for that memory…. I think so. I say only of reptiles and am rude to Common Kingfisher of this photograph. (^^;

We can meet near ourselves blue of this Common Kingfisher to be very beautiful blue, I think. The beautiful blue that anyone can get close to. The blue that I can enjoy throughout the year. It is shocking blue that strongly remains in the impression if entering the corner of view.

I come to want to avoid taking it because Common Kingfisher is popular among everyone as subject in the photograph. However, I take it carelessly when there is a Common Kingfisher.

I was walking in the park. The common kingfisher barked, and perched in the branch , at that time. The common kingfisher likes place where the prospect is effective. I became glad, and took the common kingfisher’s photograph. As for the photograph, the moment when it flew away by chance was taken. As for me, it is few to take the bird usually. I had not used the function of consecutive taking a picture, and it was not the thing which ability of camera in itself was suitable for to photograph a moment. However, I was glad because I pressed the shutter once, and this photograph came out.

However, when this photograph is seen well, the branch is unnatural. The branch that cuts in the position in which the photograph is taken easily the branch ahead and processed it projects to the place where the common kingfisher seems to like it at the angle that the common kingfisher seems to like. The leaf is completely, and moreover, it is not, and there is no something that cuts off the view.

It might be of someone’s “Effort”. It is not understood how I may evaluate this “Effort” to me. A valuable photograph might be taken thanks to “Effort”. The living thing might be jeopardized because of “Effort”.

However, I hate “Effort” as it has a big influence on the life of the animal. By this “Effort”,the common kingfisher was able to obtain a favorite one place and I also take one beautiful photograph. I am slightly complex feelings…
