最初に書いておきます。このオオルリボシヤンマ捕まえてから、木に止めて撮りました。見る人が見ると、すぐにわかる。不自然な感覚がイメージに込められている。
I am writing the result first. After it had been caught, this dragonfly was perched to the tree. An unnatural sense is put in the image in this photograph.

ヤンマのとまり方。それはアカネなどの赤とんぼのそれとは明らかに違います。ヤンマは飛ぶ事に特化し、止まることに重点を置いていない。だから、アカネのように体を地面と平行に止めることができず、多くの場合ぶら下がるようにして止まる。
The dragonfly is different in way of perching of by a kind. Because it is difficult for this dragonfly to do posture in parallel with the ground, he hangs in many cases and perches.

オオルリボシヤンマは美しいヤンマです。飛び回っているので、（私には）普通には簡単に撮れませんし、（私には）止まっている姿もなかなか見ることができません。私はヤンマの止まり方は知識として持っていました。この写真はそのイメージに近づけたつもりだったが、ヤンマに対する経験不足が「不自然」を醸し出すのだろう。
This dragonfly is very beautiful. Because he flies about, the photograph cannot be taken easily, and I cannot also see his perching appearance easily. これは「やらせ」です。「やらせ」はよく、批判の矢面に立たされることがあります。しかし、「やらせ」は悪いことでしょうか。

一番の悪は、「やらせ」に嘘を含ませること。不自然な「やらせ」を、自然状態であると捏造すること。図鑑などでこういうことは、なるべくないほうがいい。見る人に誤った情報を伝えかねない。

頭の中のイメージをそのまま写真に出来る能力は羨ましい。「やらせ」も極めれば「自然」になる。野生の環境を忠実に再現するのも「技術」であり、「芸術」だと思う。いや、野性の環境にこだわらなくてもいい。頭の中のインパクトのあるイメージを実像化する能力はとても欲しい。
I am enviable the person who has the ability that a photograph just has for an image in the head. If photo-skill improves, “the make-believe” becomes “nature”. I think that to reproduce wild environment faithfully is “skill”, and it is “art”. I may not need to be particular about wild environment. I want the ability to make an image with the impact in the head a real image very much.

私の撮影のテーマの生き物はヘビ。完全な自然の状態でリラックスしたヘビの姿を撮るのは非常に難しい。普通に「やらせ」をせざるを得ないときもある。彼らが私に気が付けば逃げてしまうからだ。
A creature of the themes of my photography is a snake. It is very difficult to take the figure of a snake relaxed in a natural state to me. I must sometimes do “make-believe”.
The reason is because they escape if they notice me.

写真を撮るとき、フィールドに出るとき。私はヘビの自然の状態を目と脳に焼き付ける。そしてその状況を忠実に再現できる技術も磨きたいと思っている。
When I take a photograph… When I go to the field… I memorize the natural state of the snake in my eyes and my brain. And I want to improve in “the skill” that can reproduce the situation faithfully.

生き物を撮るとき、どこまでが「やらせ」だと考えますか？
捕まえた後、別の場所に移動して撮る。
捕まえた後、捕まえた場所で撮る。
相手が明らかにこちらの姿を確認して緊張している姿を、逃げられる前に撮る。
相手はこちらに気づいているが、リラックスをしている姿を撮る。
相手は全く気づいていない。その姿を撮る。

相手が鳥であったり、爬虫類であったり昆虫であったり。それによっても「やらせ」のイメージは違うし、個人個人での「やらせ」と感じるボーダーラインも違う。

私は面倒くさいから、全部の写真に「やらせ」かどうかを説明するつもりはないです。ただ、誤解を招きかねないときには、説明するようにしています。この写真は「やらせ」です。

もちろん私は、この写真のカラーが好きだ。次は、もっと自然な「やらせ」を出来るようになるかもしれない。もっと経験を積まないと。

エゾコヤマトンボ。ヤゴの羽化殻は動かない。生きているわけでも死んでいるわけでもない。
An emergence husk of a dragonfly nymph does not move. Even if it lives, not dead.

こういった、動かない「生き物だったもの」は撮るのが簡単と言えば簡単だし、でも私には難しく思う。
If it says simply to take “the thing which was a creature” which does not move, it is easy and but it is difficult for me.

せっかく動かない被写体だし、たまには創作してみるのもおもしろいかなと思って写真を撮りました。こういう写真を撮るのに出来上がりを想像して、いろいろ考えるのも楽しいね。レタッチはしないつもりだったけど、携帯のメーカー名だけ消しました。
Because I had obtained the subject that did not move, I sometimes created and took a photograph. Though I did not intend to retouch, I deleted only the maker name of the mobile phone.

ストロボのマルチ発光で生き物を撮った友人の写真に触発されて、光で遊んでみました。私はマルチ発光できるストロボを持っていないので、LED懐中電灯を使って撮りました。LED懐中電灯、大好きです（＾＾）この撮影で野外で生き物を撮ってみたいな。

ところでヤゴを含む水生昆虫の幼虫の英語は、”nymph”というのですね。ニンフは「妖精」という意味しか知らなかったので、パソコンの翻訳辞書で検索したとき、幼虫≒幼生→変換ミス→妖精＝”nymph”と誤植してるのかと勘繰ってしまいました。しかし、ちゃんと本の辞書でも「水生昆虫の幼虫」という意味が載っていました。
I did not know that the larva of the dragonfly was called “nymph”. I thought that “nymph” meant the thing of the never land. However, “nymph” had the meaning called the larva of the insect which lived in the water.

この”nymph”は大人になるとこんなトンボになるのですが、
黄色と黒の縞々のトンボ、ヤンマやサナエの仲間に見えてしまいました。後で知人に調べてもらったところ、エゾトンボの仲間のエゾコヤマトンボだとわかりました。
This “nymph” became such a dragonfly when it became an adult.

大型でとても美しい色彩のオオミズアオ。見た瞬間に、とても惹きつけられる、不思議な魅力のある昆虫です。比較的普通に見られる蛾で、山の公衆便所の壁などでも見る事が出来ます。しかし、美しい場所にはなかなか止まりません。しかも、昼間に見ると、なぜか拍子抜けした色に見えてしまいます。そのまま写真を撮っても、その場で感じる美しさを伝える事が出来ません。
Emperor moth(Actias artemis aliena) is a large-scale, very beautiful color moth. It is an insect that has the magical charm to which is dressed very much momentarily at the time of saw the appearance. In the moth thought that Emperor moth is comparatively usual, it is possible to see also with the wall etc. of a public lavatory in the mountain. However, Enperor moth does not readily settle on the beautiful place. The discolored color shows it for some reason, besides, when I watch Enperor moth in the day. Oneself cannot convey beauty to feel on the spot even if I just take a photograph.

どうにかして、何か表現できないかと思って四苦八苦した写真がこれです。被写体としては、ほとんど動かないので、しばらく撮影させてもらい、写真の勉強をさせてもらいました。
I had a hard time whether I cannot express this photograph well. Because I hardly moved for a subject, I would photograph it for a while and studied the photograph.

三星羽斑実蝿（ミツボシハマダラミバエ）

最初見たとき、これがハエの仲間だとは思わなかった。羽の角度はおかしいし、ものすごい綺麗。でも、よく見ると顔がハエっぽかった。調べてみたらミバエの仲間、ミツボシハマダラミバエだった。
ハエというと、汚く身近を飛び回る、不快なイメージが強い。でも、ハエの仲間というのはとても種類が多く、このミバエの仲間やアシナガバエの仲間などとても綺麗なグループもいる。
I did not think that I was fly’s companion when this insect was seen for the first time. The angle of this fly’s wing is amusing, and patterns beautiful. But I saw a face like a fly when I took it carefully. We have the image “The fly is dirty and unpleasant”. However, there are quite a lot of kinds, and a very beautiful group such as this fruit fly’s companions and Long-legged fly’s companions exists with fly’s companion, too.

しかし、ミバエは植物に卵を産み、果実や葉っぱなどを食害する。そのため、農業害虫として知られている事が多い。このミツボシハマダラミバエが飛び去った数十分後、この乗っていた葉っぱは妙な萎れ方をしていた。葉っぱに潜るタイプの幼虫を持つ種類だったのかな。

私は英語は苦手で、英語の成績は良くはなかった。なので、英語を頑張って書いているけれど、ペラペラしゃべれるとかそういうことはない。

このホタルガ(Pidorus atratus)の記事を書こうとして、「派手だ」と書きたいのだが、インターネットの翻訳サイトは「派手」を “gay” と訳してしまう。
確かに “gay” には「派手」という意味もある。 しかしあまり公然と言いにくい意味も持っている。
I tried to write this moth’s(Pidorus atratus) article and rebuked. The translation site of the Internet translates “Hade(Japanese)” into “Gay” though I want to write the word of the meaning “He is showy”. There is certainly a meaning “Showy” in “Gay”, too. However, it has the meaning that cannot be said too much in a public way.

彼は派手な蛾だ。と書きたいのに “He is a gay moth.” と訳してしまう。これじゃ、「オス専門のガ」みたいだよね…。とりあえず、”vivid”とか、”colorful”とかに逃げておくことにしました。
I want to write “He is a showy moth.” But, translation site translates “He is a gay moth.” In this mean, it is “Moth of the male specialty. ” …It decided to write to “Vivid” or “Colorful” for the time being.

ホタルガは、昼間に行動するちょっと変わった蛾です。昼間なのになんで目立つ黒い姿をしているんだろう。さらに目立つ赤い頭をしてるんだろう…。進化の意図が掴みきれない私なのでした。ちなみに幼虫は毒毛はないのですが、毒汁を分泌します。かぶれるので注意してくださいね。
