I grew up in the vicinity of Tokyo of Japan. In the river of a thing of there, salmon and trout (Oncrhynchus spp.) do not go up. In the place where I lived, there was the downstream region in the river, too and the river repair, and going down to the river directly were a difficult situations. The fish which I could watch was only Carp (Cyprinus carpio) and Mullet (Mugil cephalus). These fish suffer greatly, too, but are not big so as to be impressive.

I began to live in Hokkaido. And, I was impressed to see the appearance that Chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) one meter over and “Humpback” Pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) do the river in the presence after.

I settled a category called “FISH” for this “Snake ‘s log”, but the photographs do not increase too much because I have only the camera that I use it on the land. If I devise water tanks and use it, I think that I may take the photograph which seems to be interesting.

However, I think that a pink color mature of the male in Pink salmon is splendid also in such a photograph. I wanted to take the figure that a salmon and a trout jumped cheerfully in a river, but only a fish without spirit has already stayed because the time was late. Still, I am impressed by the figure which a big fish of dozens of swims in front of my eyes.

Emperor moth(Actias artemis aliena) is a large-scale, very beautiful color moth. It is an insect that has the magical charm to which is dressed very much momentarily at the time of saw the appearance. In the moth thought that Emperor moth is comparatively usual, it is possible to see also with the wall etc. of a public lavatory in the mountain. However, Enperor moth does not readily settle on the beautiful place. The discolored color shows it for some reason, besides, when I watch Enperor moth in the day. Oneself cannot convey beauty to feel on the spot even if I just take a photograph.

I had a hard time whether I cannot express this photograph well. Because I hardly moved for a subject, I would photograph it for a while and studied the photograph.

The Japanese does not know badger (Meles meles) very much. It is said to be a badger “Mujina” appearing in the Japanese old tale well. The eurasian badger resembles a raccoon-dog closely in an appearance. It is likely to be recognized as a raccoon-dog though unexpected and the appearance are seen. The eurasian badger is called “Ana-guma” in japan. Japanese mean is bear that digs up hole. It might be thought bear’s companion by many Japanese.

However, the badger is weasel’s companion. The eurasian badger was short and thick, but there was the part that was common with Japanese marten (Meles meles) when I saw the movement of the eurasian badger well. The basic movement is totally different with a badger and the weasel, but the movement of the waist when a badger runs sometimes thinks that it seems to be a weasel.

It is pleasant that I introduce it to only a minor creature. 🙂

Viviparous lizard

.

My taking a picture purpose of this year in Hokkaido was to have taken a picture of Viviparous lizard (Lacerta vivipara). Hokkaido is the place where the other creatures are comparatively good for because they are easy to take it for me. She is a valuable creature in Japan inhabiting only the limited northern part of Hokkaido in Japan. However, she is a common lizard distributed over the European whole area and Sakhalin, the Siberia widely worldwide.

She inhabits the Arctic Circle. Therefore, she produces “a baby” without laying “an egg”. I think that there is the reason why she produces “a baby” in various ways, but an egg does not hatch by cold and cannot protect the body from a foreign enemy in the state of the egg, …I think.

Viviparous lizard seemed to live in the “Sarobetsu uncultivated field” a lot before, and to have been observed easily. However, it was set up at the position where the tree road was high again because there was a person who did not have manners that it sets foot on wetlands from the tree road in the uncultivated field. Therefore, the appearance (going up of Viviparous lizard to the tree road and sunbathing) seems not to have been seen easily by us.

いつも頑張って写真を撮りに行くんですが、いつも木道の白い照り返しでコモチカナヘビが黒く写ってしまい、失敗写真を重ねておりますが、今年は何とか撮れました。(^^;
I was able to take it this year though Viviparous lizard was always black, it reflected by a white reflection of the tree road, and the failure photograph was descended repeatedly though I held out and went to take the photograph. It is a favor of the digital camera to understand the taking a picture result soon. Viviparous lizard might be able to be seen slowly when going to see around 4 o’clock where the sun begins to rise though took a picture in July because movement was considerably quick already at 6 o’clock. The photograph is a moment from which it approaches too much, and it runs away. There is exactly “Turn”.

Snake travel

It is a season of the snakes in the summer! I departed to West Japan to watch a lot of snakes. I photographed it mainly on the snake of each place while sometimes meeting a person at various places. I met 118 snakes of ten kinds. To be frank, there was haste of feelings “Because I still took up photography and the number of photographs was little, it is necessary to increase my stock”, too. It has upset my health for one and a half months afterwards though there was a big gain in this taking a picture travel. I want to take a picture while peacefully doing variously to the physical condition.

The photograph was a juvenile born in this year of Japanese five-lined skink (Plestiodon(Eumeces) japonicus). There was not yet him early in the morning. However, he was found with a strange figure when I noticed at noon. By the way, he has already died.

Without wind, the sun which glared down was very strong on that day and was ideal day for sunbathing for him. However, a certain surprising thing acted, and he has been killed in the sun which should have been a blessing.

The cause of his death was done because of the cobweb. It might be caught for some reasons. He did not have power to still shake off the cobweb. And he continued taking solar heat with having been able to hang and will have died.

I doubt whether in Hokkaido originally though Eastern-japanese common toad (Bufo japonicus formosus) lives in Hokkaido. I do not think that there is Eastern-japanese common toad of Aomori Prefecture in toad of Japan because it is an original north limit of it. (In a word, Eastern-japanese common toad might have been imported to Hokkaido, I think.)

The taking a picture ground of this Eastern-japanese common toad is Mt.Osore-zan (Japanese mean : Mountain of fear). There are shrine maidens from whom here is made to a spiritual sacred ground, and called Itako. Itako is assumed that the soul is borne in the body, and “Kuchi-yose” (Japanese mean : Mouth drawing) in which it can talk about the dead human with living human through Itako is done.

This Eastern-Japanese Common Toad which I came across at this place got the color of the body wet with original red in the rain and it was weird and she moved a mouth and did seem to perform “Kuchi-yose” at all. In fact, I expected it in this way. “She moved a mouth to get rid of sense of incongruity around the mouth in the meal back”

Round hokkaio

Anyway, Hokkaido is wide. Because I had rounded almost in Hokkaido this time, it was exhausted. The gasoline considerably took money. However, I think that I was good because I was able to meet Viviparous lizard which was my aim. After all Burrowing ratsnake the Hokkaido product was a beautiful individual.

Typhoon

I decided to go out of Tokyo comparatively tuneful and to take a picture in Hokkaido. Because Hokkaido was wide, I chose not the airplane but the car. I was going to go to Hokkaido by a ferry from Ibaraki. However, for a typhoon approach, I went north by car to Aomori and took the route which was in Hokkaido. I stopped at Mt. Osore-zan of Aomori on the way and went over Tsugaru Strait by a ferry. I was not able to watch the fur seal which I expected in the sea.

Black-tailed Gull

Smith’s gecko (Gecko smithi) is a very large-sized gecko. He has size of the double of geckos living in Japan with size of the second “Gecko genus” which is next to Tockay gecko (Gecko gecko). He is a gecko with the punch only with size, but it is the eye color to be strange above all. Will the green eyes of the characteristic that is not seen to other geckos be helpful things of anything at a dark night?

If an iris is characteristic, I can do the understanding, but “the ability to see” cannot understand the green sclera which I am not related to directly. I cannot understand the evolution of the creature only in reason.
