アカアシクワガタって、腹も赤いね。
アカハラクワガタでもいいね。
でもよく見ると、頭部も黒の下が赤いね。
携帯の塗装みたい。
アカアシクワガタを見るたびに
PENICILLINの「男のロマン」が頭の中をぐるぐる回る。
もちろん薪用の材の下にいたよ！

今まで、縁のなかったカミキリムシ、ルリボシカミキリ。
子供の頃、今住んでいるところの近くでバラバラの死骸を見たことしかなかった。
標本や写真でも観てきたが、色はいいものの、
ちょっと体が平たいイメージがあって、あんまりカッコ良いと思わなかった。
でも、実物を見る機会に恵まれて、感想が変わった。
やっぽかっこいいわ。

I love eyes of snakes. Although the muscles of their face cannot make expression, there is a rich expression in their eyes.
私はヘビの目が好きだ。
ヘビには表情筋がないから、
にやけるとか、ひきつるとかは出来ないけど、
目は非常に表情に富んでいる。
特にシマヘビの目は群を抜いている。
何の根拠もないが。
咬むか逃げるかの迷いの中、
小さなセミの仲間が目の上に来たが
まさに眼中に無い様子。

ゾウムシの象の鼻は鼻じゃない。
先端に口がある。

「秋」は英単語の一つ、Fallで表される。
Fallは「落ちる」という別の意味も持つ。
“Fall” is meaning autumn. Other mean of “Fall” is like “drop down”.
私には晩秋が最も辛い季節。
ヘビを含む爬虫類や両生類は姿を消し、
木の葉が紅葉して、落ちる。
雪が降るまでの間の灰色の世界が長いと、私も落ちる。
I don’t like late Fall. Because it will be cold, the reptiles and the amphibians will be not seen. The leaves will drop down. My mind will drop down until it will be falling snow.

虫も越冬できないものは、もうすぐ落ちる。
The insects will drop down.
雪が落ちてくれば、私は少しテンションが上がる。
この雪が解けたとき、私はまた彼らに会うことができるから。

大きくないが、しっかりとした複眼だ。
この大きさで見ると、可愛げが全く感じられない。
Ladybugといいながら、おじさんっぽく見える気もしてくる。
It is not big, but it is excellent compound eyes. Prettiness is not felt at all when I look with this size.
“Hydra strobo”と倍率の高いマクロは撮影が大変だけど、
いろいろ目で見えないものが見えてくるので楽しい。
“Hydra strobo” and the photography that I used high macro for of the magnification are difficult. But I am happy because an invisible thing is seen with eyes.
北海道には生息しないようだが、
ナミテントウにはそっくりなクリサキテントウというのがいる。
成虫での見わけは肉眼的にはほぼ不可能。翅端は微妙にとがっているが、
個体差があるので、難しい。
また、ナミテントウとクリサキテントウは変異型が多く、
写真のナミテントウは19星型。
クリサキテントウもナミテントウと同じ変異系を持つので難しい。
激マクロで撮影していたら、
成虫でも簡易に見分けられるポイントが見えてくることは無いだろうか？
ちなみに終齢幼虫では外見的に識別は可能です。
腹部第1～7節の背側部が淡色で
背線突起（肉質のいぼいぼ）は全節全て黒い（ナミテントウはオレンジのもある）。

夜間に葉の裏で眠っています。
昆虫は睡眠時に夢を見るとは思えないのですが、
一体意識はどうなっているのでしょう。
暗い深い淵へと落ちていくだけなのか。
He sleeps in the back of the leaf in the night. I do not think, “When the insect sleeps, it has the dream”. How on earth is his consideration going? Does he only fall to a dark and deep water?
私は、こういう撮影が好きです。
ストロボを焚くのも手っ取り早くていいのですが、
かなり原始的に撮っています。
ただ、ISO感度を上げないと撮りづらいので、ノイズとの格闘になります。
ISO1600だと暗闇の中ではどうしてもノイズが目立ってしまう。
いまのところノイズリダクションは必須です。
I like such a photography. It is comfortable to light an electronic flash, but I photograph it originally to take a creature. But I must raise ISO film speed because it is dark. Therefore it becomes the noisy photograph to come out.
でもひとつのスタイルとして、これ系の写真は続けていきたいです。

ところで、このチョウの標準和名。
私はイシガケチョウ（石崖）で覚えてきましたが、
イシガキチョウ（石垣）とも言われたりしますね。
意味の元は同じです。
石肌が露出したような模様。
英語では”Commmon Map”（地図）。

今回はたまたま「石垣島」で撮りましたが、
種としては関西以南に生息しているようです。
このチョウの初記載は1890年。
日本でタカチホヘビを記載した「高千穂宣麿」氏により
「イシガケチョウ」として記載されているようです。

イシガキの方が、イメージは湧きやすいですけどね。

スズメバチの仲間は、巣を次の年は利用しない。
そして、女王1匹だけで越冬する。
The kind of the hornet does not use a nest in the next year. And, the winter is passed as only queen.
どの群れも、1匹の女王からスタートする。
ここから何万というファミリーを形成するというのは信じがたいことだ。
All crowds start from one Queen. Afterwards, It is that I do not believe easily that tens of thousands of crowds are formed with one queen.
このスズメバチの仲間は、小型で黒が基調。
クロスズメバチ属のものと思ったが、ホオナガスズメバチ属も外見はほぼ同じだ。
顔面のアップで属、そしてそれぞれの種が見極められる。
For this hornet kind, it is small and the black basic tone. I thought it to be a thing of the Vespula genus, but, as for the Dolichovespula genus, the appearance is about the same. In the form of the face, the genus is made sure of.
私には、そこまでして識別したいという欲と勇気はない。
こんな引いた写真でも十分きれいな生き物だと思うから。

最初に書いておきます。
このオオルリボシヤンマ捕まえてから、木に止めて撮りました。
見る人が見ると、すぐにわかる。不自然な感覚がイメージに込められている。
I am writing the result first. After it had been caught, this dragonfly was perched to the tree. An unnatural sense is put in the image in this photograph.
ヤンマのとまり方。
それはアカネなどの赤とんぼのそれとは明らかに違います。
ヤンマは飛ぶ事に特化し、止まることに重点を置いていない。
だから、アカネのように体を地面と平行に止めることができず、
多くの場合ぶら下がるようにして止まる。
The dragonfly is different in way of perching of by a kind. Because it is difficult for this dragonfly to do posture in parallel with the ground, he hangs in many cases and perches.
オオルリボシヤンマは美しいヤンマです。
飛び回っているので、（私には）普通には簡単に撮れませんし、
（私には）止まっている姿もなかなか見ることができません。
私はヤンマの止まり方は知識として持っていました。
この写真はそのイメージに近づけたつもりだったが、
ヤンマに対する経験不足が「不自然」を醸し出すのだろう。
This dragonfly is very beautiful. Because he flies about, the photograph cannot be taken easily, and I cannot also see his perching appearance easily. これは「やらせ」です。
「やらせ」はよく、批判の矢面に立たされることがあります。
しかし、「やらせ」は悪いことでしょうか。
This is “make-believe”. There is often that “the make-believe” is criticized. However, will “the make-believe” be bad?
一番の悪は、「やらせ」に嘘を含ませること。
不自然な「やらせ」を、自然状態であると捏造すること。
図鑑などでこういうことは、なるべくないほうがいい。
見る人に誤った情報を伝えかねない。
It is to contain “make-believe” in a lie to be the worst. It is to tell a lie that it is an actual state by unnatural “make-believe”. The photograph may convey wrong information to a looking person.
頭の中のイメージをそのまま写真に出来る能力は羨ましい。
「やらせ」も極めれば「自然」になる。
野生の環境を忠実に再現するのも「技術」であり、「芸術」だと思う。
いや、野性の環境にこだわらなくてもいい。
頭の中のインパクトのあるイメージを実像化する能力はとても欲しい。
I am enviable the person who has the ability that a photograph just has for an image in the head. If photo-skill improves, “the make-believe” becomes “nature”. I think that to reproduce wild environment faithfully is “skill”, and it is “art”. I may not need to be particular about wild environment. I want the ability to make an image with the impact in the head a real image very much.
私の撮影のテーマの生き物はヘビ。
完全な自然の状態でリラックスしたヘビの姿を撮るのは非常に難しい。
普通に「やらせ」をせざるを得ないときもある。
彼らが私に気が付けば逃げてしまうからだ。
A creature of the themes of my photography is a snake. It is very difficult to take the figure of a snake relaxed in a natural state to me. I must sometimes do “make-believe”.
The reason is because they escape if they notice me.
写真を撮るとき、フィールドに出るとき。
私はヘビの自然の状態を目と脳に焼き付ける。
そしてその状況を忠実に再現できる技術も磨きたいと思っている。
When I take a photograph… When I go to the field… I memorize the natural state of the snake in my eyes and my brain. And I want to improve in “the skill” that can reproduce the situation faithfully.
生き物を撮るとき、どこまでが「やらせ」だと考えますか？
捕まえた後、別の場所に移動して撮る。
捕まえた後、捕まえた場所で撮る。
相手が明らかにこちらの姿を確認して緊張している姿を、逃げられる前に撮る。
相手はこちらに気づいているが、リラックスをしている姿を撮る。
相手は全く気づいていない。その姿を撮る。
相手が鳥であったり、爬虫類であったり昆虫であったり。
それによっても「やらせ」のイメージは違うし、
個人個人での「やらせ」と感じるボーダーラインも違う。
私は面倒くさいから、
全部の写真に「やらせ」かどうかを説明するつもりはないです。
ただ、誤解を招きかねないときには、説明するようにしています。
この写真は「やらせ」です。
もちろん私は、この写真のカラーが好きだ。
次は、もっと自然な「やらせ」を出来るようになるかもしれない。
もっと経験を積まないと。
